The bible is a unique book. There is none other like it the worls. It has endured the test of time. It has withstood centuries of attempts to discredit and destroy it. It has central theme and compelling message that cannot be ignored. It has the authority to determine a person's eternal destiny and the power to change lives. Paul's words to Timothy explain why.

Following Jesus provides satisfaction. Knowing and trusting Him does for you spiritually what food does for you physically. Jesus had to make that connection with the 5,000 people he fed the fish and bread to. He has to assure the people that he is telling them the truth. This message examines the four truths he gives about being spiritually satisfied.

HEALING

James 5:13-18

“…the prayer of faith will save the sick”

Miracles and healing appear throughout the Bible. Is the
spiritual gift of healing (1 Corinthians 12:28,30), as some claim
to have, in operation today the way it was in Bible times?
James gives us God’s plan for healing today.

God’s plan for healing is prayer.

Pray when you are suffering - vs 13

• This refers to emotional, spiritual or physical suffering (Romans 8:18-26)

• You need to pray for the right thing (James 4:3) – ASK God what he is
teaching you from your suffering (2 Corinthians 12:8-10)

• You are to give thanks when the suffering is over

Ask the church to pray for you when you are sick - vs 14-15

• Ask for prayer from others who know you and care about you

• The prayers of others will be uplifting to you

• Have faith that you will get well

• Confess any sin that you become aware of

Ask forgiveness from anyone you have offended - vs 16

• Broken relationships will cause you to be sick (Matthew 5:23-24)

• Pray for those who offend you (Matthew 5:44)

• Healthy relationships are essential to wellness

FILLING

Ephesians 5:15-21

“…be filled with the Spirit”

The work of the Holy Spirit is to help you become like Christ
(Ephesians 5:1-2). In order for this to happen you must be
filled with the Spirit. Today’s text talks about why you need to
be filled, how to be filled and what results to look for.
